The day after the Washington Summit: issues at stake in the financial crisis
The day after the Washington Summit the Robert Schuman Foundation has published an interview with Jean-Paul Betbèze on the issues at stake in the financial crisis, (Mr Betbèze is Professor of Economy (University of Paris II Pantheon Assas), chief economist for the Crédit Agricole SA, member of the economic analysis committee for the Prime Minister and Member of the Scientific Committee of the Robert Schuman Foundation.)

New publication: "The time for European Agriculture to make a choice: why should we believe in the CAP?"
On the even of the Agriculture and Fisheries Council on 18th and 19th November the Robert Schuman Foundation has published a study by Nicolas-Jean Bréhon, a teacher of public finance at the University of Paris I - Sorbonne - he also had a column in "Monde de l'économie" from 1999 to 2008. The study is entitled "The time for European Agriculture to make a choice: why should we believe in the CAP?" This study is available on-line in French (in paper form or PDF) for a sum of 10€.

The Centre for the USA and Europe at the Brookings Institution in Washington together with the French Presidency of the EU are organising a series of meetings with French personalities to review the French Presidency, analyse its impact on Europe and the way the Irish NO, the Russo-Georgian War and the financial crisis have been dealt with. Jean-Dominique Giuliani spoke on 20th November on Nicolas Sarkozy's influence on developments in the priorities that he initially established and on the possible changes to the EU after this presidency.
